Tutoring in HS Physics and 8th Grade Science
education services with Ed Monroe, over
20 years classroom teaching experience

about me
I have been a science classroom teacher for over twenty years at both the high school and middle school levels. While primarily a physics teacher, I have enjoyed supporting student interests, such as regional and national science fairs, science Olympiad, etc. At the high school level, I have supported student college application efforts and delighted in seeing students be accepted to the best schools of their choice.
I respect how each student learns; and understanding their methodology is an important part of my teaching. I believe that challenges exist so that students can find ways through or around those challenges. My goal is to align with the student and their family’s priorities in helping them to progress in a way that is encouraging and sustaining for life-long learning.
On a personal note, I grew up enjoying the outdoors and participating in sports in NW PA. My family built by hand a get-away home in the country, so I enjoy hands-on activities that are common to the sciences. As a father of two, I managed a baseball team and have been active with my swim and tennis community. While I have contributed to many other local community organizations, it is the experience of working a part of a team that drives me to help students to achieve their best.
